Snoopy-GroupieBest Co-worker’s EVER!Kathy, Matt & Rose have become my long distance co-workers. As a studio ceramicist, I work alone with the exception of my fur-child/dust mop little terrier. Don’t worry- I DO mop. It is peaceful to have my studio solitude but SOMETIMES it’s just plain lonely. I have binge watched seasons of shows during production stages where I don’t really have to look at what I’m doing (pinching pots is something I do by feel, for example). I absolutely love the wisdom and enthusiasm that this trio bring to the production stages where I HAVE to look at my task. Even on days when the topic doesn’t SEEM like something pertinent to MY practice, I always learn something new or find a new ceramist to follow or resource to google. For clay geeks, this show can be as riveting as a murder mystery podcast as they discuss mysterious studio happenings in a “who done it” investigative style. Mysteries like “Why did my glaze do that thing that I HATE” or “how do I get away with NOT following the golden rules of studio ceramics?” These guys will always show up on time and they never fail to remind me of how much I DO know and of things I didn’t know that I needed to. Obviously, I love this show and I’m grateful to have these people as my on-call co-workers for those days when working alone feels restless and my home studio seems like a hermitage. Thanks you guys for your commitment to research and levity, particularly when discussing technical topics that tend to make a creative’s eyes glaze over (pun intended). This show is my FAV!

PhanimanonLove the Content and the BanterBalancing the audio between the hosts (some higher pitch and one low) could make it easier to listen to when your hands are dirty with clay. Other than this, I love everything about this podcast.

OrbitPlutoFavorite podcast by farAs a scientist turned sculptor, I really appreciate the mission of this podcast to dispel myths and just plain wrong information circulating in the ceramics community, but let’s also give props to the real star of the show: Kathy King, who keeps everyone on their toes and is a bucket of laughs, really enough cannot be said about how much her personality adds to this show. She keeps it light. I’ve also enjoyed listening to Rose come out of her shell over the seasons as she knows so much & she can be very funny as well. This community needs this show and I refer people to it all the time.

jcen11Fantastic resource for every potter or ceramicistKathy, Rose, and Matt give a lot of great information and tips for studio potters and clay artists. They cover a lot of glaze chemistry and pottery myths, and they choose really great listener questions to highlight a range of topics. Best of all, it’s easy to listen to, it’s pretty concise, and their corny jokes are tolerable lol. Thank you For Flux Sake!

Bmoss23So informative and fun!I absolutely adore this show and can’t wait for each new episode. Matt, Rose, and Kathy provide an abundance of information about clay and glazes. I recommend the show to all my clay friends and find myself going back to listen to episodes over and over again due to how informative they are.

StephS2929Glaze time funA total hoot and learned to boot. It’s a rare skill to turn glaze calc and technical problems into a good time - but this show does it. A must listen.

Seize the ClayThis one’s for the nerds(But also any clay-loving person that wants to learn) I love this show. So much of what I was taught was handed down from the previous generation without any explanation. If you like material science and you wince whenever you hear “it’s just always been done this way” you’ll love this. My favorite thing is when Matt and Rose dispel common misconceptions without hesitation and then EXPLAIN WHY. I’m a ceramics educator and I fully endorse this show.

IndieHunter27Approachable & funThese hosts are so knowledgeable but they present info in a very approachable (and giggly) way. As a hobby potter, I still have so much to learn about the science of ceramics and this podcast is making the venture fun and less intimidating!

TeenieLeenieFriends for the JourneyThere are so many wonderful things I can say about this podcast! I love listening to the humor of Matt, Rose and Kathy. It’s obvious they enjoy each other and doing this podcast. The level of knowledge shared about ceramic arts is unparalleled. Most importantly, the podcast has given me companionship on this journey with clay. I’m an older solitary potter working in my studio on our rural property. For Flux Sake is a bright spot in my life! Thanks Matt, Rose and Kathy. Looking forward to a new season.
